Biała Woda (White Water Nature Reserve)

White Water Nature Reserve is situated in the Malopolska province, in the municipality Štiavnica, a town in the Pieniny Jaworki in their area called Little Pieniny, was created in 1963, is one of the most beautiful gorges Pieniny, perfectly suitable for walking and well prepared for tourists; comfortable road - closed to motor vehicle traffic, benches, bridges and information boards. It is also a route for cycling.

White Water Reserve has an area of 27.83 hectares and is managed by the Forestry Krościenko. Reserve, consisting of four separate fragments located close to each other, is located in the valley of the White Water river and its tributary stream Brysztańskiego.Portions of the reserve are separated by grassland and farmland. The purpose of its creation was to protect the precious and beautiful landscape, many elements of inanimate nature (limestone and turn, rocky creek bed with cascades) and the interesting flora and rock art plant wapieniolubnych other rare plants. Reserve has a very interesting geological structure with a predominance of limestone from the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, creating a varied spatial forms.

The reserve is largely deforested, only in the southern part of the reserve there are small patches of semi-natural mixed forest with a diverse species composition and Carpathian beech. Prevails in them, beech, spruce and maple. Among the reserve trees are also ash, Scots pine, willow, brittle, gray willow, mountain ash, linden, European larch, alder gray birch, mountain elm, wild cherry. Remnants of the former inhabitants are wild fruit trees, horse chestnut and lime broad.

The rocks occur on the rocks and plant communities of grasslands, the more fertile parts of the meadow vegetation. Abundant common juniper. Epilithic grasslands are created by the two plant groups: Festucetum pallentis and Seslerietum variae. Among herbaceous plants occurring here are: sesleria rock, climbing stokrotnica, fescue pale, dziewięćsił bezłodygowy, broke up the ball, Galium nierównolistna, Zimowit autumn, Jastrzębiec Savoy, thistle sticky, Sedum acute, ciliate goryczuszka, yarrow szczecinkolistny (very rare plant in Poland). Great floral peculiarity is located on the north wall of rocks Smolegowej relict sites of mountain plants which occur only in Poland in the Tatra Mountains, and it is here: dębik ośmiopłatkowy, konietlica Alpine pępawa Jacquin.
